Openjk, icedtea-web problems

Dear folks,

I have installed openjdk, icedtea-web with firefox-esr, newer firefox java
will not run anymore.  Java programs run successfully, but the java in the
web browser does not work.  I saw a plugincontainer.core file in the home
directory, but I deleted it.  Is there someway to troubleshoot this
problem?  I need to have java work correctly and open a *.jnlp file.
Icedtea-web starts up,but then it stops and does nothing.
