Computer-app. crashes after accessing webdav disk

i guess gnome is breaking somewhere.  quite probably not dragonfly's fault.  after crashing, gnome possibly leaves some traces of its breakage around (stale processes) and thus fails to launch nautilus (or how it is called today) to show the desktop.
