More fun. Vinum fails to find the two extra SATA disks, the ones that
are on the 3ware controller, on a reboot:
Sep 4 23:36:30 kernel: twe0: <3ware Storage Controller driver ver.
1.40.01.002>
port 0xbc00-0xbc0f mem 0xdf000000-0xdf7fffff,0xdfeffc00-0xdfeffc0f irq 9 at
device 2.0 on pci6
Sep 4 23:36:30 kernel: twe0: 2 ports,
Firmware FE8S 1.05.00.068, BIOS BE7X 1.08.00.048
. ..
Sep 4 23:36:30 kernel: twed0: <Unit 0, JBOD, Normal> on twe0
Sep 4 23:36:30 kernel: twed0: 286168MB (586072368 sectors)
Sep 4 23:36:30 kernel: twed1: <Unit 1, JBOD, Normal> on twe0
Sep 4 23:36:30 kernel: twed1: 286168MB (586072368 sectors)
Here is the vinum config:
drive a1 device /dev/ad5s1a
drive a2 device /dev/ad6s1a
drive a3 device /dev/ad7s1a
drive a4 device /dev/twed0s1a
drive a5 device /dev/twed1s1a

It keeps marking the two twed units as referenced, after claiming
the subdisks they are on are crashed. The disklabels survive:
# /dev/twed0c:
type: ESDI
disk: amnesiac
label:
flags:
bytes/sector: 512
sectors/track: 63
tracks/cylinder: 255
sectors/cylinder: 16065
cylinders: 36480

trackskew: 0
cylinderskew: 0
headswitch: 0 # milliseconds
track-to-track seek: 0 # milliseconds

c: 586067202 0 unused 0 0 # (Cyl. 0 - 36480*)
I can get this vinum config to work just fine but it does not survive
a reboot.
Anyone have any insight into this?

A certain conqueror said to Nasrudin: "Mulla, all the great
rulers of the past had honorific titles with the name of God
in them: there was, for instance, God-Gifted, God-Accepted,
God-Sent, and so on. How about such a name for me?"
"God Forbid." said Nasrudin.
