:I recommend we follow susv3 and fight this one out.

    We can go back to the 'proper' -b if someone can get FreeBSD to fix
    their patch options in their ports/Mk files, or failing that when
    we begin weaning ourselves off the ports system and onto our own or
    someone else's.
