Bug #3436: ndp -d can delete a covering route
http://bugs.dragonflybsd.org/issues/3436#change-14866
* Author: sigttou
* Status: Resolved
* Priority: Normal
* Category: PF
* Target version: 6.6
* Start date: 2026-10-04
----------------------------------------
If a neighbor is absent, `RTM_GET` can return its covering prefix route.
`ndp -d` then deletes that route and exits successfully.
For example, with `fe80::%tap0/64` installed and no neighbor at the address:
<pre><code class="shell">
ndp -d fe80::1234%tap0
</code></pre>
This removes the prefix route.
The patch requires the returned address to match the requested address and
requires an AF_LINK, RTF_LLINFO route without RTF_GATEWAY. It also propagates
routing-socket write, read and reply errors, and returns a non-zero exit status
when deletion fails.
