[DragonFlyBSD - Bug #2493] (In Progress) vidcontrol: invalid video mode name

Issue #2493 has been updated by liweitianux.

Status changed from New to In Progress

The CLI syntax documented in the man page is: @... [mode] [foreground [background]] [show]@, so I believe the @mode@ can be omitted and thus the reporter's command is valid.

I haven't checked our @vidcontrol@ code, but checked the FreeBSD's code history, and I think we need to port their fix: https://github.com/freebsd/freebsd-src/commit/1b8c842e06c1e7851299a7a5c6e53e085a9c15f2

The mentioned @r146736@ revision is https://github.com/freebsd/freebsd-src/commit/f1121206664f83bd3a15d95139f55bf3c2cc3c2d that looks like a sync DragonFly's @vidcontrol@ ;)

Hello.

I tried to change foreground/background color of the virt. console (ttyv1) with command `vidcontrol lightwhite black` but haven't got any success. The program reports "vidcontrol: invalid video mode name". The syntax seems to be correct because on FreeBSD (latest) it works fine.

Do I miss something or it's a bug?
