you might want to:

grab my patches from
http://tecneeq.dyndns.org/~cosmicdj/DragonFly/nawk-20040207/*

contrib_nawk20040207.tar.bz2 is for src/contrib, you'll also have to
fetch nawk from
http://cm.bell-labs.com/cm/cs/who/bwk/awk.tar.gz

extract the content to src/contrib/nawk-20040207 and
rm all files in README.DELETED

usr.bin_awk_Makefile.patch.bz2 is for ... src/usr.bin/awk/Makefile,
apply it and you're ready to build nawk
