Improving powerd(8) low battery notification

Hi,

Great piece of software! Though the audible notification in case of low
battery does not work in case the mixer vol is set to 0 (or muted).

Is there an easy way to play a beep without unmuting or increasing
volume of potential muted audio, or flash the screen in a portable way
that works with both X11/wayland and console?

Btw, the sound that powerd(8) plays is awesome!
