IWell, generally speaking those virtual cd-rom drives create complications.
Someone would have to debug it and figure out what it is expecting and
implement a work-around.  Usually we just boot directly from the storage
media ... the hard drive or SSD (or equivalent emulation), and not from a
virtual CD.  Or network-boot and use a NFS root if the machine has no local
storage.  A virtual SATA hard drive (AHCI driver), or virtual NVME device
usually works well, too if it is available.   A USB drive instead of a USB
CD Rom should also work fairly well.
