Ruby 2.5.3 build freeze

Hi!

I am trying to build Ruby 2.5.3 on my DragonFly 5.2 machine and I get a
freeze during the RDoc generation step. Specifically, on the jacobian.rb
file.

When I top, I see the ruby process consuming 100.0% of core 0. Whatever
it's doing, it's not getting anywhere (had to kill it after 10 minutes).

Has anybody come across this or something similar?
