compat?x

Hi there,

can anyone explain, what the issue with compat is?
Particularly compat9x is of interest for me.

I got compat9x and compat10x built on my system with some minimal fixes 
in the Makefile and installed it, but I didn't test it right now. I just 
wonder why it is not in the dports tree.
