Thanks Justin. Finally I have a nice XFCE working in the Sony Vaio. The problem was that I could not generate the xorg.conf but I used:

X -configure -depth 16 and voilá..

I changed "ati" by "vesa" and perfect !!!

The system can with a GIS system (QGIS) in only 2 GB. Incredible...

This is not my working computer only for testing...
