Intel Sandybridge graphics support?

The host system is fine, ssh connection continues to work.
But even when I kill X server, the laptop's screen remains blank and black,
e.g. it does not return to console.

BTW, the laptop model is HP elitebook 2560p (CPU is i5-2450M)
