routing is messed up by reassignment of address

A couple of days ago my connection went down for unknown reasons. I picked up
the satellite modem, of which one light was dark; it rebooted itself and I got
a new range of addresses on both IPv4 and IPv6. I was able to ssh into
zyxomma, but I could not ping anything outside this room on 4 or 6. I tried
restarting netif, but that didn't fix it. I finally rebooted and had to manually
change the default route in IPv6 (it was pointing to em1, which is the LAN
side but has nothing connected), and had to do a traceroute on the laptop to
find the next hop.
I don't have enough time to characterize it well enough to file a bug report,
and zyxomma is not in its normal environment anyway. It's supposed to have a
public IPv4 address on em0 and a LAN on em1 and run my he.net tunnel. Instead
it has a shared-address-space IPv4 address and a public IPv6 address on em0
and nothing on em1, and the boxes that are normally behind it are next to it.
I'm compiling world in preparation for testing iwn0 tomorrow. Hopefully I'll
move zyxomma and leopard to their usual configuration on Monday.
I ran "netstat -rn" before and after rebooting. I think the first was after I
restarted netif; the second was after manually changing the IPv6 route.
