Kde4 is mighty slow

Can't say I wasn't warned.
I got cups to compile without libusb and then let kde4 finish.
Any nvidia driver is non existent.
It was terribly slow and I got a lot of errors while surfing the web.
I need to find where to turn off error messages from knotify.
Any tips on nvidia drivers appreciated.

Can you disable the printer-applet from building?
e.g. turn off the option from the meta package?
