The commands
  mount -t msdos /dev/da1 /mnt

all return

	Are you sure it's showing up as /dev/da1 - what does dmesg
(or /var/log/messages) say about it ?
Recent master probes removable usb devices on da8 and higher.  This 
might change again with the committed devfs.
