Replacing Sendmail with Postfix in the base system

Yes, but perhaps you don't have the same configuration i have. All the mail
must be routed to the mailhub, the machine name has to be stripped, and
root has to be changed to my name. This works OK with sendmail as i said,
not with postfix. The people who have written the postfix FAQ are not idiots 
and there is a reason why they recommend this procedure - which indeed
works.
And, yes, i am old enough to take care where is my aliases file :-)
