Configuring kernel: why doesnt this work?

:When im configuring a custom kernel i get this error:

:the error is caused by this line in EVELIN

:device          snd_emu10k1

:Why doesnt this work?

    It probably doesn't like the trailing digit... it probably thinks
    it is a device unit number.

    Try just using 'device snd'.
