Heh.  It's quite obvious that the person who came up with the warning 
message for free() never indulged with "stuff." ;)

"Too high to make sense." -- Too right. :)

Anyway, as far as making smbd work with propolice is concerned, it might 
be an idea to compile the default pkgsrc package with -fno-stack-protector 
until a solution has been sought.
