Purpose of lukemftpd?

No, we are not putting anything based on lukemftpd n our tree.
It's
way too complex and has historically contained root-compromising
bugs.
I want our base system ftpd to be as simple as possible.
I agree that the default ftpd should be simple. Yet for some reason I
chose to use lukemftpd, maybe it had some anonftp features that were
not available or at least not clearly documented in our ftpd.
I think the most important thing nowadays is a proper default support
for anonymous ftp. For some strange reason we have to add every system
account to /etc/ftpusers, i think that needs to be changed.
