xfce4 Unable to establish ICE listeners

Hello all,

I have recompiled my base and all ports to a more up to date version 
(1.3 Preview that is) and encountered a problem with my X.

I can use X with twm, however xfce4 reports the following error:

most likely the X server was shut down or you killed/destroyed
the application.
