I also had a system with that chipset and, quite frankly, it worked
quite well in XP, Linux, BeOS, and FreeBSD. The only problems I ever
had were with shared IRQs on some cheapo PCI cards.
Perhaps the problems you were experiencing, Atte, had more to do with
the user than with the chipset.
