Now the good question for the auditorium. Why does the card insertion
trigger an NMI ?! This could be a bug in the cardbus code or faulty
hardware, in either case it is strange.
Do you have some other card to try?

I know for a fact the device itself works fine, as I've tested it in 
another laptop I have running XP and it works perfect. I'll rummage for 
another card, I think I have a xircom laying around somewhere...
