ntpd

Hello,

I have downloaded today an iso image called LATEST-gcc3.iso
and have tried to run ntpd with it. It will not until you create
a user _ntp with home directory /var/run/ntp. Then it runs
with privilege separation as user _ntp. This should be added
to the passwd file.

By the way, how do you run gcc3 with it? It contains
/usr/lib/gcc and /usr/lib/gcc34, but the compilation driver
seems to be gcc2 only. Is it an environment variable?
