    I would rather we went with the kqueue method instead.  Munging 
    mtime/ctime that way is a really big hack and probably more appropriate
    for a submission to the KDE folks (with the structural fields also
    properly renamed), but if it can be told to use kqueue then the solution
    for us is to use kqueue.
