No, it's not going to be tunable, which means it needs to be generic
enough to not have degenerate cases which are worse then a straight
crc.
The directory inode has a flags field which stores the directory hash
algorithm, so when the change is made new directories will use the
new hash and existing directories will keep using the old hash.
