Problem:  people can't agree on one MTA in base.

Solution:  drop sendmail and replace it with a minimal solution.

There are not really existing attempts:  there is something like msmtp or so, but it is not queuing, so if it can't deliver, it drops the mail.  plus it doesn't handle local delivery.
