I may be a minority of one, but I see no harm in supporting *only* 
current-production
multimedia thingies, (and not all of those) at least until more needful 
work has been handled.
Most are now integrated with consumer MB, new add-on cards are 
relatively cheap and cheerful,
. ...and servers seldom (ever?) need them at all.
