cd error during install

Hi Folks,

This may be due to "absence of fan" on motherboard north bridge (disk
controller) chip (it fell off and I don't have a good way to re-glue it
back). The box generally works and is rarely flaky, so my question, is
this from that, something else or is there no way to tell?

While trying the dfly-20040913.iso.gz installer today, the cpdup command
(/usr/share) stopped with error, but looking at the log there was nothing
out of the ordinary. Selected retry and it completed without problem.

This message was only on console #1 and retrieved via dmesg

Besides a missing fan, the image was written to about the cheapest media
available. Heck of a lot more info than "Sig 11" but I cannot read much
more into it. Is there something more to be gleaned? What are those numbers?
