Benchmarks including Dragonfly

Sorry if this has been posted earlier as I am only a month old on 
DragonFly. But I found this very interested. Especially his conclusions 
in stating that Linux 2.6x has narrowed the gap tremendously where 
BSD's used to own Linux and looks to be on verge of surpassing.

Is the snowball effect of media hype with regards to Linux causing it 
to gain better programmers/more interested developers taking fruit?
