syscall-msg emulation layer help

hi,
i would like to take a look on userapi goal... but i need some more info...
as far as i understand from DF's homepage what we'll have to do is, at 
first, write a wrapper for the syscalls in order to create a layer based 
on "messages"... something like:

idt -> int 0x80 -> syscalltable -> wrapper and syscall dispatcher -> 
syscall called by the dispatcher using messages...

hum.... is it correct?

is anyone already working on userapi?
