GCC work in progress on the tree.

    David Rhodus and I are doing a bunch of GCC work in the source tree
    to allow both GCC2 and GCC3 to be made part of the base system
    (and pave the way for other versions or subversions to be supported
    in tandem as well).

    The source tree is going to destabilize probably most of today.
