networking modules

i couldn't find any module called *ed* in /modules. i just installed
from a live cd (02/09/2004), the system runs as expected, but the nic
doesn't get recognized. original dmesg output is difficult to get; no
net and no floppies at hand. the important lines are:
Read the archives about NEWCARD stuff.

In short: 16-bit NE2000 cards work as usual. cardbus (32bit) cards are 
getting there too. Can you check the card if it says cardbus on it?
