Eagerly awaiting that. I found a very intriguing Linux implementation that
is all user-space, Zap <www.ncl.cs.columbia.edu/research/migrate/> but
despite the availability of research papers, the code is nowhere in sight.

Thought as much. In any case, the machine I have enough free space to
install *BSD on has its hard drive under a Promise raid controller, and
booting FBSD 5.1 on it takes forever. I figure I might as well wipe it and
try installing DragonFly from scratch.
