    ldd(1): Fix some warnings, raise WARNS to 6, further cleanup.
    
    * Remove remaining a.out support.
    
    * Nuke some orphaned externs.
    
    * Remove (void) casts.
    
    * Use ssize_t for read(2)'s return value.
