    Oops.  kern.conf.c wasn't part of that last commit.  I fixed its 
    log message.  The kern.conf.c change is to remove STASH support
    for device structures for early booting.

    Now that the kernel console support no longer needs a device structure
    so early in the boot sequence, the device code no longer has to supply
    it.
