Not having much of a clue what this commit really means, I'm
wondering what impact this has on the previous intentions with
respect to asynchronous system calls? Does this commit rip that
out altogether? or is this just surgery on a small sub section?
Is it gone forever or just temporarily gone?
What's the score here?
