I'm not sure there is a point to remove the P macros from
the vendor code. Actually I think it might make an import
of fresh code more time consuming later on.

You might want to pull the OpenBSD sort into the DragonFly base.  I 
believe they've replaced the GNU version with their own (BSD license, of 
course).  I believe the same is true for diff.
