Bug #3441: Avoid disk-label reads during a crash dump
http://bugs.dragonflybsd.org/issues/3441#change-14870
* Author: sigttou
* Status: Resolved
* Priority: Normal
* Category: Kernel
* Target version: 6.6
* Start date: 2026-10-05
----------------------------------------
A crash dump to a disk slice without a disk label can hang before writing
its first data. Checking the dump destination tries to read a disk label
using normal disk I/O, which can wait indefinitely after a panic.
Skip that read while writing a crash dump and use the slice size and
offset already held in memory.
