Issue #3428 has been updated by sigttou.
Status changed from New to Feedback
Confirmed: drm98.patch fixes the VA-API/EGL cleanup freeze on Intel UHD 630. My two dma-buf reference changes are already included, so the separate patch is no longer needed. This issue can be closed.

Bug #3428: drm: dma-buf reference imbalance freezes VA/EGL cleanup

----------------------------------------
dma_buf_get() returns without retaining a file reference, but PRIME import
later drops one. Repeated imports can release the buffer prematurely.
dma_buf_fd() also leaves an extra reference after installing the descriptor.
Retain the caller's reference in dma_buf_get(). Consume the transferred
reference after successful descriptor installation in dma_buf_fd().
FreeBSD uses the same ownership rules: retain the lookup reference and drop
the extra reference after descriptor installation.
