Looks like nobody is investigating?
Does this not happen on Release 4.0 ?

Using master through

sbin/hammer: Print '>' or '<' if the element is a copy of root_btree_(beg|end)
and dports master, resizing an Xfce4 Terminal window by grabbing a corner with the mouse causes the window to unexpectedly close. This has been observed on multiple systems with both Radeon 4xxx graphics cards and Intel integrated graphics. Furthermore the systems had relatively recent full buildworld buildkernels, and dports was built against the up-to-date systems.
One question is whether this behavior could be related to a libedit update.
