Which DragonFly did you run:
DragonFly/i386 or DragonFly/x86_64 ?
(both are possible on current 64bit systems)

Also: which version 2.4-release, head or ..?

This issue also seems like what you reported in issue 1589;
it might be worth following up on that.

See kernconf(5) & build(8) for a bit more info on
platform/arch supported in DragonFly.
