[issue1439] g++ seems to be broken

Hi,

I had a look around on Leaf and Avalon, and gcc34 doesn't seem to be installed, therefore I wouldn't be able to use it.
Anyway, C12 is C++ code - not C code, so the compiler it needs is g++.

Can you try compiling with the environment variable CCVER set to gcc34? We've imported a new version of openssl, which I more suspect to bethe cause. Also, is this wrong data always the same or is it random?
cheers  simon
