libthread_xu not working correctly with ssl?

I just wanted to follow up to point out that this is quite a problem with
libthread_xu at the moment. I'd appreciate any input/resolution regarding
this. We shouldn't ship 2.0 with this problem.
David, do you have any idea why thunderbird and firefox wouldn't be able
to connect to ssl services? (Meaning, they just spin, connections get
established though) This sometimes happens, sometimes not. Of course it
could also be a timing issue within mozilla, but I doubt that.
I tried debugging it, but thunderbird does millions of mutex operations,
so I can't really get to the problem.
