System Clock racing on 1.8.0-REL+xorg

Bug: System Clock racing on 1.8.0-REL+xorg
Procedure to reproduce bug:
1.) Install & configure xorg meta-pkg(pkgsrc_Q42006) using VESA 1024x768 
graphics mode.
2.) Boot in ACPI Disabled Mode or Safe Mode
3.) startx using default window mgr (twm)

System clock is now racing & continues to race after exiting X.
