Installer does not work on snapshots from including 25th April

On iso images from 25th April onwards, the installer does not work.
Tried with latest -HEAD and 1.4 release from 25th April and does not work.

Got an iso image of 1.4 release from 23rd April and the installer works.
Also if I create my own iso image from latest -HEAD, the installer works.

I was told that that's because the version numbers for the installer packages
were not changed (and because of that all the snapshot building servers
still use the old non-functioning installer packages?).
