On DragonFlyBSD 1.5.4, KDE freezes on startup

The problem occurs with a fresh compiled KDE 3.5.3, too. Interestingly,  I 
have a desktop machine (AMD Athlon XP) with a 1.5.4 installtion and a working 
KDE 3.5.3.

I'll make a last try and will build everything from source on 1.5.4 
(xorg,qt,kde).

Does anyone have a clue, what's the cause of the problem?
