Better news about that wi panic

:Ah!  On examining the console messages I now see the panic is
:happening when I reboot when the running old kernel shuts down -- that
:must be the detach! -- and not on booting the new kernel as I thought.
:  Apologies for any confusion and I still have to investigate this
:further.

    Excellent, excellent, one more thing I can check-off!
