vnlur_proc lockups under high disk I/O

:Just installed the latest stable ISO and have suffered the same problem. 
:When expanding the pkgsrc tarball (25Mb 80,000+ files) I get;
:
:vnlru_proc: vnode recycler stopped working!
:vnlru_proc: vnode recycler stopped working!
:vnlru_proc: vnode recycler stopped working!
:..
:
:and an unusable system.

    Can you get a kernel core ?
