Network problems

:Hi,
:
:this started with an upgrade about 1-2 weeks ago (well, it started with
:*something* that happened 1-2 weeks ago). Network (packet forwarding?)
:stalled every 6-12 hours. Today I did another upgrade (no configuration
:changes) and now it happens every 30-90 minutes.
:
:This box is my router connected to the net by an rl interface (via
:pppoe) and connected to the internal network by an sis.
:
:When it hangs I can do:
:
:# [kill ppp]
:# ifconfig tun0 down
:# ifconfig tun0 up
:# [start ppp]
:
:Then I get a:
:
:Working in ddial mode
:Error: bundle_Create: ioctl(TUNSIFMODE): Device busy
:Using interface: tun0
:
:After which everything works normal again. If I leave out the down/up of
:tun0 I won't get an error from ppp but it will use tun1 instead which
:doesn't work.
:
:I could provide tcpdump output for both interfaces if there's interest.
:
:Sascha
Absolutely. This doesn't sound like the MTU issue that Jeff just
committed a workaround for, but it's always possible so upgrade your
system again before you run the test and tcpdumps.
At the same time run a netstat -I tun0 -in 1 and also one on rl0,
maybe somthing will show up when in crashes.
This bug is a high priority for me but I haven't been able to reproduce
it yet.
